Upper Midwest Writers Series

Sol Books grants one annual award to an author currently living in the Upper Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. This is an open-genre contest, and the winning entry will receive a standard publishing contact.

Manuscripts entered into either our Poetry Series or Prose Series from recipients living in the Upper Midwest will automatically be entered.

GUIDELINES

• For prose manuscripts, see Prose Contest
• For poetry manuscripts, see Poetry Contest
• Entry may be previously published as long as entrant retains the copyright and provides proper acknowledgements
• Entry may be simultaneously submitted; however, Sol Books must be notified if the submitted collection is accepted for publication elsewhere
• Postmark date: December 31^st, 2008

WHAT TO INCLUDE

• $5 Reading Fee, payable to Skywater Publishing Company
• Cover sheet, with contact information (name, address, phone number, and email address) and title of entry
• Title page, without contact information
• Table of contents and Acknowledgements page
